PRIVACY POLICY

For more information about the owner, contact the following email address: hello@biancaclacktherapy.co.uk

Privacy policies can be updated periodically and clients will be notified of any changes.

Bianca Clack, as the data controller, stores client information electronically to support the ongoing client process. Types of information collected includes, but not limited to, personal contact details and therapy session notes. Anonymised feedback may be used on my website, or social media pages, only with the consent of the individual(s) providing this. Use of information facilitates future therapy sessions, scheduling appointments, communicating with clients and improving website functionality.

All information is provided by the clients themselves and is processed only by myself, on a password protected laptop.

BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics require that I maintain your confidentiality and keep information about you safe and secure. Clinical notes are also stored securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act (2018).

Professional indemnity insurance via Howden is in place, providing protection to both myself and my clients.

Clients may see their own records by making a written, signed request to hello@biancaclacktherapy.co.uk. I will respond within one month and will not usually charge for subject access requests.

Clients also have the right to have information about them amended and/or deleted.

Any information disclosed by a client during therapy will be kept strictly confidential as long as there is no risk of significant harm to the client or anyone else.

The only exception to this is for legal obligations and the therapist’s supervision, or by prior agreement with the client. In both of these cases the client will be referred to by their client id number or first name only.

Clients may withdraw their consent for Bianca Clack to hold information about them at any time by contacting me via email.

In the unlikely event of a data breach, protocol will be followed in line with the ICO’s guidance.

Client information and records will be removed after six years* after the final therapy session, unless a client requests earlier destruction of their records. (*clients occasionally return and it is useful to have access to previous records at that time).
